The 2022 Call to Young Pianists
The Fondation Long-Thibaud is proud to announce our return this year
offering
1st Prize of € 35,000
A total of € 90,000 in prizes will be awarded in 2022
When? November 7-13, 2022
Where? Paris. Salle Cortot – Théâtre du Châtelet
Registration? now through July 8, 2022
Who? Pianists aged 16 – 33 years old
The philosophy of the competition is to reconnect with the tradition that has made
the Long-Thibaud one of the most prestigious competitions in the world.
Hence the choice of four set pieces, according to Marguerite Long’s principles.
There will be a pre-selection via video clips of these pieces by July 8, 2022:
- Chopin Sonata in B-flat minor n°2 (1st and 4th movements without repeats )
- Debussy Toccata or Ravel Toccata
- Poulenc Presto in B-flat major
- Couperin, The Tic-Toc-Choc or Rameau, The reminder of the bird

Among the eminent pianists on the jury are:
Bruno-Leonardo Gelber (Marguerite Long’s last pupil), Marc Laforet, François-René Dûchable, Rena Sherevsheskaya, Momo Kodama, Plamena Mangova, Nicolas Angelich and Janos Balasz
